Katie Martinez, M.S.Ed, assistant director of athletics and student-athlete career development for Mizzou Athletics, enjoys seeing students learn about themselves and others.

In her own words: "Leadership education is important for students because it deepens their desire to contribute to something greater than themselves. In my career, I have done a great deal of career coaching, and some of the first questions we ask students are what they enjoy (or do not enjoy), what they believe in, and what they value. These reflections help students better understand themselves, and those insights go hand in hand with leadership development. When students are aware of their interests, values, and motivations, they are better equipped to lead, collaborate, and make meaningful contributions in their communities and future careers."
