James Saltat is the Interim Associate Director of Leadership & Service for Student Affairs at the University of Missouri. Saltat has design and lead two different classes in the past two years through Student Affairs that Community Engaged Learning and the CLIP program.

In his own words: "Leadership education is important for students because it provides opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom and co-curricular setting to real-world settings. These experiences allow students to navigate complex challenges, engage with diverse perspectives, and develop confidence in their ability to influence positive change within their communities. Leadership education also helps students build a sense of purpose and belonging while preparing them for life beyond the university. When students are empowered to lead - whether through formal roles or everyday actions - they begin to see themselves as active contributors to their campus and society. The skills they develop through leadership education extend far beyond Mizzou and equip them to lead with integrity in their careers and communities."
