James Ndone teaches public relations, crisis communication, and organizational communication at Coastal Carolina University. Originally from Kenya, he combines professional experience in journalism and public relations with a research program focused on leadership, strategic communication, and organizational crises. Using experimental methods, his work examines how communication shapes stakeholder responses during times of uncertainty, with particular attention to emotions, trust, reputation, relationship-building, and leadership effectiveness. His recent research explores internal crisis communication, leadership communication, AI-assisted communication, and organizational responses to complex crises, with the goal of generating practical insights that help organizations communicate more effectively and ethically during challenging situations.
